The module aims to introduce the context for action research and the principles it embodies. You will learn how action research differs from conventional research approaches and how to use it to develop your leadership capabilities.

In this module, you learn how to inquire into problems or challenges through a participative, collaborative approach that reflects the ethos of action research. You start working with a colleague within your cohort and then extend your inquiry with an individual in an organisation or company and collaboratively inquire to uncover a challenge of mutual interest to you and the member(s) of the organisation.

Continuing on from the previous module, this one aims at further inquiry into the leadership capability challenge revealed earlier during your 1:1 session with an outsider and will help you understand the context more deeply through certain tools of inquiry. You will develop your action research skills within a team or group setting. At the end of this third module, you will start to work on your final project proposal. The skill set you have acquired so far during these Leadership and Action Research modules will help you to commence this process.

In this part, you continue to inquire into your leadership practice in data science as you start to bring consequential, ethical and meaningful change to an organisation at the outset of your final project.
